MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The Somali police will today mark its 75th anniversary since its establishment.
Senior government officials including the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre are set to grace the occasion at Konis stadium in Mogadishu.
A colourful preparation ceremony to mark the event organised by the various department of the police has been ongoing in the city for the past one week.
The law and order agency is among government security institutions that were affected by the decades of the civil war in the country.
The international community including AMISOM police unit is helping the federal government to rebuild and restructure the institution mandated with law and order in the country.
