MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Somali Police have said they are probing the motive behind the killing of three people by AMISOM convoy last week.
Traffic police commandant, General Mohamed Yusuf Omar said his department is handling the case.
General Mohamed urged the relatives of the victims to be patient as they are concluding the investigation into the incident.
Three people were killed when an autorickshaw they were traveling in was hit by AMISOM convoy along Mogadishu-Afgoye road.
The victims were Abdishakur Bootan, Abdikadir Hussein who were soldiers and their driver Dalmar Jeylkani.
AMISOM officers later acknowledged the accident following police intervention.
They said they avoided to halt their journey and attend to the accident but they feared backlash from the onlookers.
Incidents involving in AMISOM armored vehicles with civilians is not a new case.
In a similar incident, AMISOM apologized after its armored vehicle rammed into a minibus with passengers in Afgoye- Mogadishu road in 2016.
