MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre toured Somali National Army officers undergoing training at General Gordon military facility in Mogadishu.
accompanied the new Somali military chief, General Odowa Rage Yusuf, the premier and his team were briefed by the instructors on the progress made on the capacity building exercise.
The premier who addressed the recruits urged to complete their course before deployed to the front line as part of offensive against the armed group al-Shabaab.
Hassan Kheyre assured to the new servicemen about the his government commitment to provide all necessary support including the clearance of remunerations of members of the armed force to strengthen the quest for peace and stability in the country.
Somali armed forces backed by African union peacekeepers and US air support retook several key strategic towns along the lower Shabelle region from the armed group al-Shabaab in the past four months.
The operation which is still ongoing is expected to cut off four main strategic bridges along the banks of river Shabelle to halt the movement of militants and limit their offensive
