MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre toured main checkpoints to man security in the capital on Tuesday evening.
The premier accompanied by senior government officials including the mayor and governor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman, visited more than 30 checkpoints across the city.
The leaders were briefed by the heads of security in the respective operation centers on the state of security.
During his brief tour, the PM also interacted with young people socializing in various business centers and discussed them about key challenges.
Speaking to Somali National News Agency (SONNA), Deputy Minister for Internal Security, Abdinassir Saed Muse said the Prime Minister called upon the heads of security in Banadir to ease security-related challenges for motorists at various checkpoints.
The deputy minister added that the Hassan Kheyre acknowledged the tireless efforts by the members of the security forces to ensure heightened security.
Somali security agencies have beefed up security across the country and mainly the capital, Mogadishu to preempt attacks during the holy month of Ramadan.
