MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble is today expected to hold talks with the leaders of the country’s regional states for the first time since inter-regional state meeting kicked off last week in Mogadishu.
According to sources privy to the talks, Premiere Roble will have meeting with the leaders in Airport Hotel in the capital to discuss over the contentious issues which delayed the elections.
The talks come as International community is pressing Somali political stakeholders to come together to end their differences to allow the country hold elections.
The regional state leaders who had been in talks since last Saturday have reportedly agreed the resumption of the FGS-FMS talks which number of times failed to kick off as Puntland and Jubband states which are bitterly opposed to Farmaajo had table several pre-conditions.
Meanwhile, the international representatives are holding the talks with the state leaders at Airport Hotel before their meeting with PM Roble commence.
Somali parliamentary session slated for today was cancelled after international community reportedly pressured the house leadership to call off the summit.
The cancellation of the session comes hours after fifteen lawmakers barred from next five parliament sessions announced that they will attend the upcoming session.
On Saturday, the parliament leadership suspended 15 MPs from chamber following what House speaker Mohamed Mursal termed a violation of the House Standing Orders.
