Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheire on Saturday launched the start of 2017-2018 National exam.
The federal government has been conducting the centralised examinations since 2015.
Speaking during the launching at 15-May School in Mogadishu, Mr. Kheire said the country gradually improving system which is recovering from two decades of dysfunction.
“Education is the key to development and as government we will make sure to give every child opportunity to learn,” said PM Kheire.
The Prime Minister has wished students success in their examinations.
“With all the hardwork you did, you will pass the exams, have less worry and concentrate with you work,” he wished.
27,600 candidates in Galmudug, Southwest, Jubbaland, Hirshabelle states and Benadir region will participate the exams which will run for five days.
The final exams will be conducted at 120 centres in state members and the capital.
Somali security forces have been deployed to enhance the security of the students and the facilitators
