Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheire has appointed the head of Aid Coordination Unit which was re-established in 2012.
Former aid worker, Ahmed Hussein Ahmed has been named the directorate of the organisation.
A statement from the prime minister’s office confirms that the officials will be replacing Ahmed Aiynte who has been heading the ACU since it revived its operation in 2012 after more than two decades dysfunctional.
Aynte was appointed in 2012 by former president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud just before Brussels conference started.
ACU serves as the platform of coordination between the government and donars on the management of the development issues.
It also facilitates Somali Partnership Forum, Aid mapping exercise and oversees aid effectiveness.
The during those year, ACU facilitated several conferences held for Somalia.
