MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre held talks with visiting the Chief Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, Ababu Namwamba in Mogadishu on Tuesday evening.
The two sides alongside Kenyan ambassador to Somalia, Lucas Tumbo focused on strengthening bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest between the two neighboring nations.
“Held talks this evening with Somalia Prime Minister H.E Hassan Ali Khaire in Mogadishu on bilateral issues of mutual interest to Kenya and Somalia, accompanied by Kenya’s Ambassador to Somalia Gen. (Rtd) Lucas Tumbo and Director for Peace & Security John Kilonzi.” Ababu Namwamba said in his tweeter account.
The meeting between follows talks between President Abdullahi Farmajo and his counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta at the sides of the 74th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The leaders agreed to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries damaged by the disputed maritime border case at the ICJ.
The meeting was facilitated by the chair of the African Union and President of the republic of Egypt, Abdulfatah Al Sisi.
