MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – The first sitting of Somali parliament 5th session was postponed following lack of quorum on Saturday.
The speaker of the house, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh, announced the decision after the threshold was not met.
The constitutional review committee was scheduled to appear before the chamber for presentation on the draft constitution before the session was unexpectedly cancelled.
The next session is set on Monday according to weekly house diary.
The assembly was officially opened by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Wednesday last week following a return from recess.
Meanwhile, some members of the legislators present at the postponed session today showed their displeasure about the laxity of the house in discussing the security lapse in the country.
