MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Somalia’s Federal Parliament will meet in a special session today to discuss the approval of new Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
The head of state Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and the appointed premier held separate meetings with the leadership of the two houses of parliament to seek the support for endorsement.
During a meeting last week Mr. Roble requested the national assembly to endorse his appointment immediately saying there is more work and less time left, thus will urgently form new administration to continue pending plans including elections, economic reforms, and security strategy.
The acting premier Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid established a committee to organize the handover ceremony.
Meanwhile, President Farmajo is also expected to address the parliament to appeal to them to vote the new election model agreement between the federal government and regional member states.
If the poll agreements approved, the country will go to parliamentary elections as early as November with Presidential elections in February.
