MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Lower House of parliament has approved the international is disability convention on Saturday.
The members of parliament put to vote the convention submitted to the House by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via parliamentary committee on foreign affairs.
According to the first deputy speaker of the House, Sheikh Ibrahim Mudey, 144 members of members supported the approval while one member abstained the ratification.
The members who also approved the national resources sharing deal agreement reached in Baidoa between the federal government and its regional member states.
The Ministry of Women and Human rights affairs has commended the national parliament for the approval of the significant bill into law.
They also received the contentious copies of the draft election bill recently approved by the cabinet.
The house is also expected to debate media and petroleum law in the forthcoming weeks.
