Five Somali nationals face two-year suspended jail sentences for illegally staying in Kenya.
Fatuma Shukri, Nasra Mohamed, Fathi Mohamed, Kafia Hamid, Hussein Faisal have appeared before Kericho Resident Magistrate, Elizabeth Karani.
The prosecutors said the five who hail from Somalia have entered Kenya from Uganda.
The Somalis were arrested last Friday after the vehicle they had been travelling in was stopped at Kipsitet roadblock on Kericho-Kisumu road.
According to the police, the suspects had no permits and valid visas.
After two consecutive hearings, the court found the five guilty of being in the East African Nation illegally.
The court directed that the five be sent back to Busia which was their entry point to Kenya.
Their repatriation will be overseen by the Kericho OCS and the Kisumu immigration department.
