MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The Somali minister for Information, Dahir Mohamed Geele has today resigned after 11 months in office.
Speaking to VOA Somali, minister Gelle said he has submitted his resignation letter.
“I thank Somali President and the Prime Minister for giving me the chance to serve this position. This decision has long been in my mind and I mulled it deeply, but today I took the decision to resign,” he said.
The minister noted dispute sparked between him and the government leaders.
Neither Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Framajo nor Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire.
Gelle was appointed by Prime Minister Ali Hassan Khayre in his first cabinet in 2017.
