DHUSAMAREEB (Halbeeg News) – Somali military court in central Somali on Saturday sentenced two soldiers to death after finding him guilty of murdering his colleague.
Burnham Waranle and Abdirisack Tahlil were found guilty of killing Abdullahi Issa mid last month.
Galmudug Deputy Minister for Justice, Mohamud Gure Guleid who spoke to the media after the verdict said the officers killed Mr. Issa last month in Ben-Dharte village.
The court proceedings which started 1st day of this month was concluded after three days.
According to Mr. Guleid, the verdict was announced yesterday at a military base in Galmudug state.
He added that there had been an argument between the two before the accused skiers opened fire on the deceased.
“The hearings of their cases commenced on 1st September and concluded three days later. The two, Burhan Waranle and Abdirisack Tahlil were found guilty of murdering (Mr. Issa) after one confessed that he killed and the witnesses swore the affidavit and evinced evidence,” he said.
The military court often carries out sentences and executions to Al-Shabaab militants and government soldiers who commit crimes despite condemnation from human rights groups including the European Union.
