Three Al-shabab convicts have been sentenced to jail terms ranging from 10 years to life in prison for their roles in Al-shabab attacks.
Somali military court on Sunday found guilty the three who were arrested by Somali forces in Lower Shabelle region.
Mohamed Ali Abdi, Mohamed Abdirahman Mohamud and Ahmed Adan Werar were convicted of being Al-shabaab members and making explosives for the group.
According to a statement by the court, the prosecutors had presented written evidence supporting the charges against the criminals.
The three had been subjected earlier to two different levels of hearings of the cases against them.
The court said Mohamed Abdirahman Mohamud who trained his two other colleagues was sentenced to life in prison.
“Mohamed Abdirahman Mohamud (30) who born in Lower Shabelle region conceded the charges against him. After he was found guilty of being head of bomb makers who operate between Mogadishu and Afgoye, the court sentenced him serve life in jail,” reads the statement.
Mohamed Ali Abdi and Ahmed Adan Werar were slapped with 10 year jail terms each.
The trio were apprehended early this month after the security forces raided a house in Elasha Biyaha where the convicts were repeatedly preparing explosives.
