MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The chair of Somali military court Colonel Hassan Ali Nur Shute called for the prosecution of the families of senior al Shabaab figures who do not share the details with relevant security agencies.
Speaking during an event at Somali Criminal Investigation Department in Mogadishu, Colonel Shute particularly warned government officials whose relatives he said are still part of the group but do not cooperate with the security agencies.
“We want to interrogate the relatives of al Shabaab militants especially those in the government who don’t share their information. Those who are found guilty for not providing the information must face the full force of the law.”
Meanwhile, the military official has called for the swift inquiry into the terror attack that killed the governor of Banadir and mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Omar Osman together with other senior officials in July last year.
“We must continue the investigation into the murder of the late Mogadishu mayor Abdirahman Omar Osman until we bring the perpetrators to justice.”
Armed group al-Shabaab claimed the responsibility for the female suicide bomber that carried out the attack at Banadir regional headquarters last year.
