MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The Somali government has commented on the recently concluded meeting organised by some opposition parties in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya.
Opposition figures including ex-ministers, former and current lawmakers have attended a day-long meeting.
In conclusion, the members issued a statement calling for a cabinet reshuffle.
They urged the government to come up with a plan to stabilise the country, review the constitution and hold one man one vote.
In response to their statement, Somali minister for Information, Dahir Mohamud Guelleh said his government is ready to work with the opposition for the betterment.
“The government tries to unite the public; we urge the politicians to stop (the destructive) criticism, the government is not against the opposition individual,” he said.
He called upon the opposition leaders to cooperate with the government in the process to build the nation.
“This nation is in the healing process, we need to join hands to rebuild this great nation,” he stated.
