MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The second Somalia Health and Exhibition Fair have kicked off in Mogadishu on Thursday.
The two-day event for the health care workers in the country which is recovering from decades of conflict is expected to focus on improving the capacity of skills in the significant sector.
The fair is organized by Afrik institute for research and development in conjunction with the ministry of health.
According to the organizers the exhibition will host over 30 hospitals and 15 health equipment companies and pharmaceutical firms according to the organizers.
Somalia’s Minister for health and social services, Doctor Fowzia Nur Abikar is expected to address the event.
The Mayor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman and the chair of Somali medical practitioners, Doctor Mohamed Yusuf are among others scheduled to speak at the exhibition.
The Republic of Turkey stepped in to help the government of Somalia improves health services in the country by training medical staff and providing scholarship for medicine students to universities in Turkey.
