Dozens of Somalis including men and women majority from Europe and United State had in the past travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside ISIS fighters.
The Western countries have rejected the fighters and their families to return as they were listed terrorists.
The governments are said be reluctant to take back citizens who lived under the caliphate.
These people who include hildren and widows were reportedly transferred into overcrowded camps in Syria and Iraq.
In a statement, Somalia’s ambassador to the EU and Belgium, Ali Said Faqi said Somalia will evacuate work on ways to return these people to Somalia.
“Somali government carries efforts to return Somali women and their children who face challenges in Iraq specifically Kurdish to Somalia,” he said.
The ambassador said the victims were initially brain washed by ISIS into the war in Iraq.
“They were propagandised by the terrorists, many children born there, they were rejected by countries they initially travelled from, thus Somali government decided to return them to Somalia,” stated the ambassador.
