CADALE (Halbeeg News) – The Somali government has said al-Shabaab ring leader in Middle Shabelle was killed amid sharp increase of US aerial bombardment against the group.
In a Twitter post, Somali ministry for information said the al-Shabaab leader in Adale district was killed.
The man was said to have been killed in a locality which lies 40km away from Cadale town.
The ministry did not give more details of the slain al-Shabaab leaders and the cause of his murder.
According to the ministry, the leader was killed along with three other fighters.
Somali forces backed by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have stepped up operations to hunt down both al-Shabaab and ISIS.
The development comes as six US airstrikes 27 al-Shabaab and ISIS fighters in Somalia since the beginning of this month.
