Consultation meeting on developing Somalia’s infrastructure is underway at the administrative capital of Puntland state.
The three-day meeting which was organized by Somali Federal Government was officially opened by Somalia’s state minister of Public Works, Ahmed Hassan Kariye.
Officials representing the ministries of Public Works, Planning and Finance of Puntland state and officials from Federal Government as well as other states are attending the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Kariye said Federal Government is committed to rebuild the country’s infrastructure.
“We are committed to improve and rebuild infrastructure across the country while working closely with regional administrations. Somalia can stand on its own feet if its people collaborate and unite,” said Mr. Kariye.
He pointed out that his ministry will take every step possible to strengthen its relationship with other Public work ministries of regional.
According to the country’s National Development Plan which was adopted in 2017, Somali government prioritizes on the rehabilitation and development of the country’s infrastructure which not functioning well since the fall Somalia’s central government in 1990s.
