MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Isse Awad on Sunday met with EU delegates at his office in Mogadishu.
The delegation led by EU Chargé d’Affaires Fulgencio Garrido Ruiz arrived in Mogadishu to assess the situation of the Country.
The sides held lengthy talks on issues of mutual concern as well as international and regional developments.
“H.E. Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, discussed with the charge d’affaires of the EuropeanUnion Delegation to Somalia, Mr. Fulgencio Garrido Ruiz, issues of mutual concern as well as international and regional developments. Somali,” the ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, Mr. Awad lauded the European Union’s Support for Somalia.
The minister brief the delegates on gains achieved during his tenure as head of the ministry.
On his part, Mr. Ruiz reiterated EU’s commitment to support Somalia in the process to rebuild the country which recovering from decades of civil war.
Somalia made a tangible improvement in the areas of public finance management and met most of IMF’s list if not all. According to IMF.
