Mogadishu, (Halbeeg News) – The Somali Film Agency Tuesday awarded the cast and crew of the hit series Dabin, along with the production company Asal and Nasiye App, for their exceptional contributions to the country’s film industry.
The ceremony celebrated the series’ directors, actors, and technical staff for their outstanding quality and dedication.
Speaking during the event, Environment and Climate Change minister Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, commended the initiative and encouraged filmmakers to incorporate themes of environmental protection into their work, highlighting the country’s need for increased awareness in the area.
Somali National Theatre Osman Abdullahi Guure in his remarks noted the cultural significance of films like Dabin, which showcase the beauty and recovery of Mogadishu and Somalia’s coastal regions.
He expressed his appreciation for the youth’s role in highlighting these positive aspects of the country.
On his part, Somali Film Agency director Ali Abdulqadir Ali reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to supporting local filmmakers and preserving the nation’s moral culture through film.
The Ministry of Information is currently leading a large-scale campaign to promote local filmmaking as a tool for educating Somali youth and engaging society.
