ASWAN ( Halbeeg News) – Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid is representing his country in the ongoing Aswan Forum in Egypt.
The Deputy Premier joined several heads of state and governments from the world in the two days’ forum which kicked off on Wednesday.
“It’s a great honor to participate in the Aswan Forum on Peace and Sustainable Development in Africa.” The DPM said.
Gulaid was a panelist at a session on sustainable peace in practice where he focused on Politics, Institutions, Partnerships, and Coherence in Somalia.
He also met Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne, at the sideline of the meeting and discussed upcoming Somali elections and the ways to further boost bilateral relations between Mogadishu and Ottawa.
“Had a fruitful meeting with H.E. François-Philippe of Canada, we discussed elections and our bilateral relation.”
Under the auspices of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the two-day forum is focused on post-conflict reconstruction and sustainable development in Africa.
World leaders, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations, will participate in 13 key sessions over the two days.
