Mogadishu (Halbeeg News) – The federal government of Somalia’s council of ministers Thursday approved two crucial bills aimed at building the political party systems and advancing electoral process in the country.
During its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hamze Barre, the cabinet approved the political parties Bill and the Elections Rules and Regulations Bill.
The bills will be instrumental in regulating political parties and associations in addition to streamlining the conduct of elections in the country.
Once passed, the bills with augment the Elections Act which is the principle law guiding the election for various representative seats in the country.
