DOHA (Halbeeg News) – Somali minister for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Isse Awad has held talks with his Qatari counterpart in Doha.
The Qatari ministry for Foreign Affairs organised the meeting which took place on Sunday.
Minister Awad and his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani discussed broad range issues affecting both countries.
Among issues development projects and the relations between the two countries.
The visit of minister Awad comes barely two months after the countries inked defence deal to cooperate on the defence sector.
Early this year, the Gulf state donated more than 67 armoured vehicles to Somali armed forces in its efforts to help fight against al-Shabaab group in the country.
Somalia and Qatar have developed close relations since the country chose a neutral stance on Gulf states and Egypt blockade on Qatar a year ago.
