ADDIS ABABAB (Halbeeg News) – Leaders from Ethiopia’s Somali and Oromo region have convened in Adama town to participate in peace conference which kicked off today.
In a statement by Oromia administration, Oromia region communication head Admasu Damtew said over 2000 delegates from Somali and Oromo communities participated in the meeting.
“Ormia hosts a public forum in Adama to enhance the unity and brotherhood of Oromo and Somali people,” he said.
He expressed hope that the Coalition between Oromo and Somali People will continue to playing a role to restore peace, development, and construction.
He called for collaboration to work together with the federal government and the state governments.
The forum is expected to bring back the displaced people from both regions and restore peace.
He also said that the government would be able to pay tribute to the people killed in the clashes and ensure peace and justice for the people.
Somali and Oromo people-to-people solidarity is an initiative launched president Mustafa Omer of the Somali Region and then president Lemma Megerssa of Oromia.
