Aw-Dheegle ( Halbeeg News) – The Somali National Army has delivered dry food in Awdhegle town, Lower Shabelle region.
The troops with support from the UK distributed food items to residents of the newly recovered agricultural town.
The program is dubbed early recovery initiative by the British is aimed at supporting the federal government’s stabilization efforts in newly recovered areas.
The agricultural town which is 70 kilometers south of the capital, Mogadishu was recaptured by Somali army last month.
The troops repulsed attempts by armed group to retake the strategic town located at basins of river Shabelle.
There are ongoing efforts to deploy federal police force in the area to boost maintenance of law and order in all liberated areas in Lower Shabelle region.
Relevant government agencies have been directed to initiate social amenities to provide basic social services.
Clinics and education centers in the area is currently rehabilitated to cater for the needs of the local communities who are mostly farmers.
