MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – A Somali military court on Tuesday sentenced two men convicted over attack on SNA base in Lower Shabelle region.
Hassan Abdi Adan and Omar were captured alive last November Somali national army during fighting between the military and al-Shabaab fighters.
The fighting took place a village between Basro and Bal’ad towns.
According to the prosecutors, the two had sustained injuries during the fighting and were treated at the military hospital before they were taken to the military.
The prosecutors accused Hassan of being head of al-Shabaab finance in Bal’ad district.
While Omar Hussein was accused of al-Shabaab member and personal driver of Hassan.
The chief of the military court, Gen. Hassan Ali Shute, said Hassan Aden Isak was sentenced to life in jail after being convicted of being al-Shabaab fighters.
Hassan who was convicted of being head of the al-Shabaab finance and Omar who the personal driver of Hassan was sentenced to life in prison.
The court gave them 30 days to seek appeal against verdict.
