BAIDOA (Halbeeg News) – At least six al-Shabaab fighters died and several people including SNA soldiers sustained injuries after heavy clashes between SNA and al-Shabaab in Southern Somalia.
Heavily al-Shabaab fighters have ambushed SNA convoy escorting trucks transporting commercial goods to Bakool region.
The fighting took place in an area between Qur’a-joma and Hudur.
According to SNA radio, the forces defeated al-Shabaab and the convoy proceeded to Hudur town.
Al-Shabaab which lost control of Wajid and Hudur towns for some years back has cut supply routes of the towns, leading starvation in those areas.
The group had previously attack several trucks transporting food to Hudur.
