MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Several people are to have been killed in a car bomb explosion in a small in central Somalia.
The explosion targeted a police station in the town of the Hiiraan region. According to sources, the Beledweyne CID commandant who was identified as Jamal Ahmed Jama was among those killed in the explosion.
No official statement regarding the casualties of the blast was yet issued by the authorities.
As of now, no group has claimed the responsibility for the attack, but it has the hallmarks of the group’s recent attacks.
More than 15 people were killed and dozens were wounded dozens in triple bombings in the Jalalaqsi and Bulaburde towns of the Hiiraan region. The explosions targeted security checkpoints and a police station.
Al-Shabaab claimed the responsibility of the explosions saying their fighters targeted government intuitions and claimed to have over a dozen of government soldiers in the attacks.
