DHUSAMAREB ( Halbeeg News) – Security officials from the federal government of Somalia and their counterparts in Galmudug state have agreed to strengthen stability in the region in a new cooperation move.
Officials from the federal police and the intelligence unit held meeting with regional security chiefs in the administrative capital of Dhusamareb on Monday.
They called upon the residents to cooperate with agencies while issuing a new directive meant to curb possible security threats in the peaceful regional capital.
In a letter seen by the press, the citizens were warned against renting their properties without the knowledge of the authorities, buying and selling of cars without prior notice, use of unregistered and tinted vehicles was also restricted.
The possession and use of illegal arms and the movement of members of security agencies without the provision of identification cards were also prohibited in the new directive.
The meeting by officials from the federal and regional level on security comes just weeks after an agreement between Ahlu Suna and Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre paved way for the deployment of federal security agencies in the region previously controlled by the Sufi forces.
The local forces were biometrically registered and integrated into the Somali armed forces before their offered capacity building training which was officially launched by the prime minister in the presence of the international community partners on two weeks ago.
