MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – A delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has arrived in the Eritrean capital Asmara.
Led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud the team was welcomed by President Esias Afawerki.
The delegation delivered messages from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as well as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to President IsaiasAfawerki.
The two sides later held talks on bilateral ties and regional issues of mutual importance.
According to Eritrean Information Minister Yemane Meskel, the two sides reaffirmed that the two countries hold convergent views and positions on various regional issues.
They also agreed to bolster their ties to establish a Joint Committee to implement the common vision.
The visit comes amid allegations that the Eritrean forces backed Ethiopian military operations against TPLF in the Tigray region.
The claims by some international media outlets also allege Addis Ababa deployed drones from the port city of Assab with the help of the United Arab Emirates
