The government of Qatar has pledged to back Somalia’s unity and sovereignty as some of Arab countries were accused of infringing Somalia’s unity.
Somali President is expected to conclude his official visit to Doha in the forthcoming hours.
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani said his government will support Somalia’s peace restoration process.
He affirmed that the relationship between Somalia and Qatar governments was one of Brotherhood and mutual respect.
“Qatar will continue to support the unity, stability, sovereignty and well being of the people of Somalia,” said Al-Thani.
The government of Qatar also pledged to implement development projects in Somalia.
The Gulf nation will construct the roads linking the capital with two agricultural towns, Agooye and Jowar.
According to the agreement between Somalia and Qatar, government institutions and health and education facilities will be built by Qatari authorities.
The support of Qatar comes barely two months after Somali government accused the United Arab Emirates of violating unity and sovereignty of the country as it signed a backdoor agreement with the breakaway Somaliland.
Somalia maintained its neutrality in the ongoing crisis between Gulf nations.
Saudi Arabia led coalition including Egypt, Bahrain and UAE have an economy sanction on Qatar over allegations of backing Iran and several other terror groups.
