Puntland state minister succumbs to COVID-19
The Puntland state minister for Presidential palace Mohamed Hassan Isse has succumbed to corona virus in Garowe on Saturday.
The minister for health Jama Farah Hassan confirmed the death of his fellow cabinet member.
According to medical sources the minister died after developing respirotary related complications related to the pandemic.
The diseased was about to be airlifted to the capital Mogadishu before he was pronounced dead.
His is the second highest ranking official from the north east state who died of the COVID-19 since first case was recorded in the country on April.
The deputy leader of Puntland Ahmed Elmi Karash sent his condolences to the family and friends of the late minister.
” May almighty have mercy on our late brother and rest his soul in paradise.” the deputy leader said in a statement.
The body is expected to be laid to rest in Garowe on Saturday.
