GAROWE(Halbeeg News)- The inauguration ceremony for the newly elected president of Puntland regional state of Somalia, Said Abdullahi Deni is to take place in Garowe on Saturday.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, the leaders of regional states across the country and hundreds of high profile guests are expected to attend the inauguration.
Also in attendance will be the representatives of the international community including United nations mission office for Somalia UNSOM, IGAD and members of the diplomatic core.
Security has been stepped up in and around the venue in Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland regional state ahead of the inauguration ceremony.
Puntland President, Said Abdullahi Deni was elected on 8th January with 35 votes defeating his adjacent contender, General Asad Osman Diyano who garnered 31 votes.
He pledged to improve security and the economy as well as improving relations with the federal government.
