GAROWE (Halbeeg News) – Puntland President Saed Abdullahi has today urged the state’s assembly extend time to form his cabinet.
In today’s parliament sitting, Puntland leader addressed the members and detailed his administration’s plan.
During his speech, President Saed has asked for more days to come up with the new line up of his cabinet.
Members of the House put in a vote on the proposal to extend the time to form the cabinet.
According to the speaker of the parliament, Abdihakim Mohamed Ahmed, 45 of the lawmakers voted in favour of the proposal while one MP rejected as four others abstained.
The speaker declared that Puntland president was given 15 more days to form his the line-up of the cabinet.
Prior to his proposal, President Saed was supposed to appoint his cabinet before 29th of this month.
In accordance with Puntland Charter, the newly elected president should form his cabinet in less than a month.
Puntland regional assembly has elected Saed Abdullahi as the president of the state for the next five years.
