MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Leaders of Puntland and Jubbland states, Saed Abdullahi Deni and Ahmed Mohamed Madobe repsectively are expected to arrive in Somali capital to participate in the sixth round of electoral talks in Somalia.
An advance security team of Madobe landed at Aden Adden Airport in Mogadishu this morning.
The talks between the federal government and its member states are expected to take place at the Airforce Hangar within Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu.
Though talks still face hurdles over demands raised by the two regional states leaders and opposition, yet the main agenda of this round would be the signing of the implementation process of the September 17 deal and to support the Baidoa Framework agreed to by a joint technical committee.
This week, Somali prime minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble emphasised that the government will continue holding talks on the electoral process to implement the pre-election agreement, which was reached on September 17 last year, with leaders of the federal member states.
A consultative forum announced by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo to take place on 4th of this failed after leaders of Puntland and Jubbland state did turned up.
Somalia was suppose to hold presidential elections late last year but differences between the leaders of the federal and regional governments.
