GAROWE ( Halbeeg News) – A delegation led by Puntland state of Somalia Deputy leader, Ahmed Elmi Karash embarked on a tour in parts of Bari region affected by flooding on Sunday.
The Deputy leader of Puntland state and his team who were on a mission to assess the damages caused by recent flooding in the area also delivered humanitarian supplies to displaced families.
The humanitarian provisions were delivered via air since the roads transport was cut off by the heavy flooding caused by the torrential rains backed by cyclone climate.
The air crafts landed in Alula which is one most affected district in the seaside province.
The cyclone rains damaged shelters, including collapsed houses and the loss of livestock and household items, which have been washed away by the flash floods and reduces households’ capacities to access basic shelter.

According to the Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Agency (HADMA), some 35,600 people in Puntland have been affected by TC Pawan and the consecutive heavy rains which accompanied the tropical cyclone.
