MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Friday appointed Abdihakim Yusuf as his new chief of staff barely a week after the latter’s predecessor, Hussein Sheikh Mohamud left office.
Hussein who resigned on August 13 to enter politics after only three months in office.
Mr Yusuf, a seasoned international development expert, Villa Somalia said brings a deep understanding of peace and conflict dynamics, inclusive politics, economic reform, and human rights.
According to Villa Somalia, he has nearly two decades of experience in institutional development, good governance, and capacity building in fragile and conflict-affected states.
He previously served as Senior Presidential Advisor in the Office of the President’s National Policy Coordination Unit. In this role, he advised the President on National Consultative Council negotiations and engagement with key international partners.
Mr Yusuf holds a Master of Science in International Development and Project Planning from the University of Bradford, UK.
