GAROWE (Halbeeg News) – Somali President has chaired the opening of consultation meeting between the federal and regional state leadership of the country in Garowe on Sunday.
The head of the state has stressed the need for a unified approach towards the significant governance and development agenda facing the horn of the African state while commending the commitment of the regional state leaders in the realization of the plan.
Somali federal and regional administrations leaders convened in Puntland regional state administrative headquarter, Garowe, on Sunday to discuss ways to strengthen relations and cooperation for the fight against armed group al-Shabaab.
The President, Prime Minister, state leaders from five administrations namely Puntland, Jubaland, Hirshabelle, Southwest, Galmudug, and the governor of Banadir are attending the consultation meeting.
It was convened by Puntland leader, Said Abdullahi Deni on 28th last month shortly after his return from a trip abroad.
Similar invitation by President Farmajo in Mogadishu for national security meeting didn’t take place for an unspecified reason.
2020 elections, resource sharing and urgent response to famine in the country are among topics top on the agenda during consultation discussions in Garowe.
