MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali President Mohamed Farmajo on Saturday met with Ethiopian Finance Minister, Ahmed Shide in Mogadishu.
The minister and his delegation paid surprise to Somalia to enhance the relations between the two countries.
According to Villa Somalia, Ahmed convoy greetings from Ethiopian Prime Minister to President Farmajo.
The minister also congratulated the president on the 59th anniversary of Independence Day.
“President Farmajo receives Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Hon Ahmed Shide who conveyed H.E PM Abiy’s personal greetings & congratulations for Somalia’s 59th Independence Anniversary,” a Twitter post reads in part.
President Farmajo and Minister Ahmed held talks on wide range issues including the relations, security, and economy of the region.
The president pledged that his government will work on developing the region in cooperation with the countries in the Horn of Africa.
“Farmajo has assured his support for the stability and economic prosperity of the region,” Villa Somalia said.
