MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has directed the commanders of Somali military to stage a war on al-Shabaab fighters.
The president has visited the recently liberated villages in Lower Shabelle region.
According to Villa Somalia, the Somali National Army bases in Sabid and Anole villages.
Addressing the soldiers, the President lauded the soldiers for commitment to liberate al-Shabaab held villages in Southern Somalia.
The president urged the soldiers to continue the fight against al-Shabaab fighters.
“I congratulate you for defeating the enemy of the public. You are needed to defend the town (from al-Shabaab) just like you liberated Sabib and Ankle,” he said.
He added, “Al-Shabaab is coward, they only know how to explode (bombs in) the public and killing children but they cannot face you because they do know that you brave.”
President Farmajo has called on the public to cooperate with Somali forces in the fight against al-Shabaab.
“We urged the public to work with the soldiers in the peace restoration process and defeating the enemy,” he said.
The president pledged that his government will stand with the forces.
“We are always by your side, we deploy soldiers to reinforce you, we will chase them (al-Shabaab) until they are eradicated,” the President vowed.
