MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has today congratulated Somali workers on the International Labour Day.
In a statement posted on the state-owned media, Somali President lauded Somali workers and civil servants for their commitment to rebuild the country.
President Farmajo said his government will work on the completion of the work bill.
“I appreciate your efforts to develop this country, I also pay tribute to those killed in the acts by the terrorists,” he said.
Separately, head of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), Francisco Madeira, congratulated Somali workers.
He commended the Somali workers for their resolve to continue to strive for the social and economic development of their country despite Al-Shabaab violence and atrocities.
“We note, with satisfaction, the interactions and engagements between the FGS and the Federation of Somali Trade Unions (FESTU) to initiate various policy and statutory documents which will afford further protection to the Somali workers,” he said, “I wish all AMISOM and Somali workers a happy and festive 2019 Labour day.”
