MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has called for sixth round consultative forum in Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland.
In a statement, Villa Somalia said the meeting which would brings together the leaders of federal and regional states will focus on the ways to iron out differences over electoral process.
The presidency reiterated president Farmajo’s commitment to hold commonly agreed elections in the country. The forum was slated for next Monday.
No comments from the leaders of federal member states who recently participated in Dhusamareb-IV for three days.
Last week, President Farmajo, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, leaders of the five regional states and the governor of Benadir had met in the central Somalia town.
The leaders failed to reach agreement over contentious issues including Gedo and Somaliland electoral commitees.
Meanwhile, International community has been pressure Somalia’s stakeholders to agree over the electoral process.
