ASMARA (Halbeeg News) – Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has arrived in Asmara, the capital city of Eritrea this evening.
President Farmajo and his delegation were accorded warm welcome by President Isaias Afeworki and Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed when they arrived at Airport on a stop-over, two-day, visit to Eritrea on their way back home from the FOCAC Summit in Beijing.
He is expected to attend a tripartite meeting of Ethiopia and Eritrea in Asmara before his departure to Mogadishu.

Earlier today, Somali government said in a statement the leaders will a trilateral Talks on Economic Integration.
“The meeting in Asmara between Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea will focus on integrating security and economic growth in the region,” the statement read in part. “Somalia seeks to play a key role in the economic and social integration of the Horn of Africa to foster trade and investment, and to improve connectivity between the people and businesses of the Horn.”
The meeting comes barely a day after the China-Africa forum in which Somalia appended its signature the Belt and Road Initiative was concluded in Beijing.
President’s Wednesday visit will be the second after July’ s visit in which the countries agreed to restore diplomatic relations for the first time in 15 years.
