MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has appointed a new deputy police commissioner on Tuesday.
In the Presidential decree, Brigadier General, Osman Mohamed Abdullahi ( Kaniif) who was promoted to the position will serve alongside General, Zakia Hussein who is also deputy police commissioner for Somali Police Force.
The head of state wished the new high ranking youthful Somali Police official success in his new duties.
The recent change of command at Somali armed forces is part of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo administration efforts to reform the security sector in the country.
The President appointed new army chief, police and spy agency last month as reforms continue to deal with the challenges posed by the armed group al-Shabaab mainly to the regions surrounding the capital, Mogadishu.
