MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali President has sent his Ramadan message to the citizens across the country as they mark the start of the holy month on Monday.
The head of state called upon the responsible citizens to closely work with the security agencies to heighten security, especially during the sacred month.
He also instructed the members of the security apparatus to improve their relations with the public as far as community policing is concerned.
The president urged members of the public to bolster unity while helping the less fortunate, the poor and the needy among themselves.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the House of the People Mohamed Mursal Sheikh and his Upper House counterpart, Abdi Hashi sent their Ramadan messages to faithful across the globe.
The ministry of religious affairs and endowment announced Monday 6th April as the start of the holy month of the Ramadan, but some believers in parts of the Galgadud region allied to Ahlu Suna sect will start their fasting on Tuesday.
