MANDERA (Halbeeg News) – Kenya has arrested three of its National Police Reservists who allegedly killed two civilians in Elwak, a town on Kenya’s border with Somalia.
Ali Abdi Ali, Mohamed Ibrahim Issack and Ahmed Mohamed Abdilatif are said to have killed Kulow Adfan Hassan and Ahmed Abdi Garad on June 21 in Mandera county.
In a statement, Kenya police said the trio were to be charged with the murder of the victims.
An investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations had resulted the arrested of the trio.
The probe file was taken to the Office of the Public Prosecutions, which gave consent for the arraignment.
Investigations found out that the trio allegedly shot at a Toyota Succeed ferrying passengers on Elwak-Dololo road en route to Wajir. Two people were killed.
The driver drove to Elwak police station and reported the attack.
The three suspects were arrested on Wednesday and positively identified by the survivors of the shooting.
