BAIDOA (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime minister, Hassan Ali Kheire has vowed to intensify the fight against al-Shabaab fighters in Southwest State.
Speaking to at a farewell ceremony held in Baidoa town, the prime minister said his government is committed to eradicate al-Shabaab fighters.`
“We will keep on fighting against al-Shabaab fighters in the country. With the support of southwest people, the government will rump up the operations to uproot the group from this state,” he said.
PM Kheire thanked leaders and people of southwest for their welcoming him and showing the support of the federal government.
“It is pleasure for me to spend all these nights in Southwest. I say will not be my last trip, I will be back and continue supporting southwest state and its people,” he commended.
The prime minister called on the public to work with the authorities in southwest in the restoration of peace and stability.
“I know people of Southwest love promoting governance and progress, with your help, we can establish good government,” he said.
The remarks of the prime minister come amid Somali military intensified its operations to defeat al-Shabaab fighters in Bakol and Lower Shabelle regions.
On Friday, Somali national army killed four al-shabaab fighters on the outskirts of Marka town following covert raid to thwart the group’s plan to attack SNA base in the town.
